Whistler part II

Although yesterday's ride home was a net downhill, some nasty head and cross winds compensated for that. My average speed was actually 1 km/h less than the previous day (25).

Some of the descending was a bit sketchy, especially with crosswinds. This is the one situation where I miss my old heavier, stiffer aluminum bike. Great views though. Here's a video from one of the viewpoints:


You can tell from the commentary what state my mind is in while riding. "Mountains good..."

At a previous viewpoint I met a nice older couple from Pennsylvania. I think the woman asked me if there were many igloos in the area. Maybe I misheard her but I'm pretty sure that's what she said. I told her they'd have to go farther north to see igloos, although I'm not sure even the Inuit use them anymore. It must have been disappointing for them to come all this way and not see any igloos.
